((Most of this has been in my head for a couple years or more now. I just decided to put it to paper and cover any holes I've missed. Blizzard seems to have added some new things as well, including a WotLK-ominous quest text which I SWEAR used to be different ( thottbot.com/q333 ). I'd feel a bit weird about creating so much story for so MANY NPCs, but seriously, who is going to care about these guys? And MOST of it is ingame anyhow, through little quests and the items lying around the various stores. So. Anyway. I produce now, a list, which I may update later to include more NPCs. Like ones in Darnassus, but I'm lazy right now.))
Delion’s Business Relations Sorted By City/Area
Booty Bay
Tan-Your-Hide Leatherworks:
Drizzlik - Cobbler
Supplying most of the Thread’s shoes for complete outfits, specialises in leather. Very high quality. Relations have become strained since the issue with the attack on Delion, and all business is done through the post. This leaves a small margin for errors in custom designs.
Blixrez Goodstitch - Tanner
Indirect relation through Drizzlik. Supplies leather for shoes.
Qixdi Goodstitch - Tailor, Accessories
Specialises in petite-framed tailoring for both goblins, gnomes and some dwarves. As such is not in direct competition with the Thread, but rather supplies outfits when needed, mostly gnomes. The Thread does not display these, but will order in upon request.
Deep South Tannery:
No relations. Supplies heavy leathers.
A Tailor To Cities:
Xizk Goodstitch - Dyer
Supplies dyes of exotic colours - mostly bright, known for exceptional reds. Seldom supplies the Thread with raw dye, instead providing the dyeing service of raw cloth to custom colours in stock.
Grarnik Goodstitch - Draper/Weaver
Specialises in wool and yarns, usually of bright colours from close relation with Xizk. Provides raw materials for the most part, also sells rugs.
Ironforge
Maeva’s Mystical Apparel:
Maeva Snowbraid - Dressmaker
Specialises in petite framed attire, mostly dwarven. Very few dealings.
Ingrys Stonebrow - Tailor
Specialises in petite framed attire, mostly dwarven. Occasional dealings, though the Thread will mostly direct customers to Ingrys rather than order in due to the less formal nature of the clothing she provides.
Finespindle’s Leather Goods:
Fimble Finespindle - Limer/Leatherworker
Dealing in some of the finer leathers for gloves, shoes and accessories. Few dealings, as the Thread generally does not deal in leather unless for exceptional customers. Will usually order in accessories such as handbags and moneypouches rather than craft them.
Bombus Finespindle - Haberdasher
Specialises in leather oddments such as buttons and clasps. Occasional orders, the Thread prefers in most cases to create their own cloth clasps to individually match the garment. Tape measures of high quality.
Stonebrow’s Clothier:
Jormund Stonebrow - Weaver
Specialises in mageweave. Going blind, mistook Delion for an apprentice upon first meeting despite the large difference in height. Good relations. Frequent tradings for raw materials, though usually undyed or grey.
Poranna Snowbraid - Tailor, Embellishment
Well-known in Ironforge for lacework, Poranna mainly crafts delicate garments. Very few business dealings, though some conversation regarding decoration in the form of added parts (lace/piping/beads) is frequent.
‘Outfitter’ Eric - Tailor, Alterations
Specialises in petite framed, high quality clothing. Few direct dealings.
Uthrar Threx - Weaver
Bumbling idiot, has mucked up orders on more than one occasion. Prefer to order through Poranna.
Burbik’s Supplies:
Burbik Gearspanner - Haberdasher
High-quality metal oddments such as clasps, buckles and buttons. Don’t trust ‘zippers’, they look ridiculous and complex. Able to do custom buttons and clasps on request, with a three-day waiting period. Splendid needles, pins and thimbles.
Stormwind
Duncan’s Textiles:
Duncan Cullen - Clothier
Sells mostly everyday attire. Not at direct competition with the Thread, thus have good relations.
Alexandra Bolero - Tailoring Supplies
Good relations. Provides many fine threads, though not in custom colours. Quite comely.
Georgio Bolero - Fashion Designer
At direct competition with the Thread, though somewhat surprisingly good relations. Is more prone to trying to set trends than actually crafting them. Always impeccably dressed. Was the first businessman to deal with the
Thread when others refused to. Has traded many, many trade secrets with Delion over the years, ranging from human cultural trends to simple gossip. Really, quite a good friend. Competes with the Thread for top designer. Fabulously good looking and handsome.
Lawrence Schneider - Apprentice Tailor
Annoying snit. Wears clashing colours. Sneers a lot.
Canal Tailor And Fit Shop:
Lisbeth Schneider - Tailor
Simple clothier. Simple designs, though there isn’t much ‘design’ to them at all. Clothes for the everyday working class. Really nothing special in the least, though cheaply priced. Specialises in linens and knitted goods. Very rocky relations. No direct competition in actual clothing, but shares a close location with the Thread. Has disliked this “uppity client-stealing blue-skinned twat” from the very start. Most of the rumours, gossip and drama in the textiles industry likely stems from this young woman.
Rema Schnieder - Seamstress
Just as horrible as her daughter Lisbeth. Has a lovely shirt pattern, however. Guards patterns jealously. Does a lot of knitting.
Corbett Schneider - Tradesman
Rema’s husband, smoked mozzarella enthusiast.
Lionheart Armory:
Harlan Bagley - Trader
The Thread has occasional selling through this store, as advertisement closer to the central trading hub. Mostly displays simpler designs, as they also trade with the Schneiders. Responded well to recent boom in cloth armour and winter clothing trade.
Carla Granger - Textiles Merchant
General clothes trader, works with Harlan. Few conversations with Carla as she is more apt at dealing with customers whereas Harlan is the trader and businessman.
The Protective Hide:
Randal Worth - Up-And-Coming Leather Fashion Designer
Leather isn’t known for its trend-setting, but Randal seems set on making it so. Has some background in textiles, has recently apprenticed with the Tanners to learn the finer points of skins. Very good relations. There is some talk of creating a trading alliance between the Thread and the Hide, though this is mostly just talk. Randal is a pleasant man to converse with.
Simon Tanner - Tanner, Limer, Leatherworker
Exceptional leatherworker. Very little trade. Slightly rocky relations, the Tanners used to have similar views to the Schneiders regarding the Thread. This is no longer so due to not competing with customers at all, though the Thread still has to speak with Booty Bay for all shoes, and leather trading with the Hide is scarce if ever.
Jillian Tanner - Leathercraft and Supplies
Simon’s wife. Very little trade as the Thread has no need of leatherworking supplies. Once in a blue moon Jillian can provide a good needle where ones designed for cloth would bend or warp.
Little Noah - Aspiring Apprentice
When the Thread approached the Tanners to see if Noah might apprentice there, they politely declined. Noah seems to have no interest in tailoring anyway, preferring to follow in his parent’s footsteps.
Larson Clothiers:
Evan Larson - Hatter
High quality hats. Occasional dealings. Open to custom orders.
Wynne Larson - Patternmaker, Dressmaker
Specialises in formalwear, at some competition with the Thread, though provides less expensive and less detailed attire for the more common occasion.
Sellandus - Apprentice Tailor
Slightly eccentric even allowing for his kal’dorei heritage. All anyone could ever want in an apprentice.
Thurman Schneider - Apprentice Tailor
Very young apprentice and son of Rema Schneider. Often forgets his supplies. Rather lazy and avoidant of work. Not very promising. Likely an attempt by the Schneiders to branch out into more formal attire, he seems to resent working with the Larsons.
The Finest Thread:
Delion Oreweave - Custom Tailor and Dressmaker, Fashion Designer, Patternmaker
Specialties include embroidery, kal’dorei traditional dress and haute couture. Over three thousand years experience. Absolutely no dyeing, though will order in any cloth in any colour needed for the garment. Has a small reputation for being eccentric, though this is mostly due to being of foreign origin and culture. High cost for high quality. Deals exceptionally well in all fabrics, though mostly silk and mageweave (runecloth tends to stretch). Rather good looking.
Sol’remy Stardusk - Apprentice Tailor
Layabout, lazy, colourblind, unable to speak the Common tongue. Fast learner on the odd occasion he puts his mind to it. Somewhat passable with figures. Very eccentric. Rather good looking, albeit more rugged than his master. Oddly ridiculously terrible at straight-stitch.
